The first day in the hotel, I stood on the balcony and took a series of photos. These are what you can see from our room. This is the view of the city to the north. in a later photo you see this same shot at night. Click on image to view full size.
This is the view looking out our balcony towards the Hilton Village. The boat tied up at dock is the Atlantis which would venture out every hour to the submarine. The paying tourist would then be taken down into the sub. Click on image to view full size. -- That Pam rocks!

Then Pam pulls out the view. Here you can see where I really am. The cliffs are intense and the wave action if you fall in could be fatal. Click on image to view full size. -- That Pam rocks!
Here is a view of the cliffs. Note the loose sandy rocks on the top. These made walking very hazardous. Note, if you go to Hawaii and walk out on cliffs like these DO NOT walk on the loose material. Click on image to view full size. -- That Pam rocks!

The Guided Tour

The first activity day we took a guided tour. Our tour guide was a native Hawaiian named Shannon O'Brian who had been giving tours since the age of 19, about 22 years. The tour bus was not the high end, but the quality of his tour was tops. He knew many places, and many folks. Many times throughout the tour as he was talking he would say something like 'Every body turn to the right and wave there goes my sister and daughter shopping.' I bet he said there goes so in so at least 5 times. He was nice, he was knowledgeable, and he was pleasant.
